4 Console Games To Look Forward Too In August 2017

We aren’t going to lie, August is a slow month for new console games. Other than the swarms of incredible indie games being released, there aren’t many big-name, highly anticipated games being released for consoles next month. We have compiled a short list of the four most anticipated console games coming up in August, starting with:

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed Uncharted series returns on August 22nd, and with it comes a brand new main character. Fan favourite Chloe Frazer takes the lead, occasionally assisted by Nadine Ross.

Their adventure takes place in India, with Chloe searching for the legendary golden tusk of Ganesh. Taking place amongst ancient ruins and dense jungles, players can look forward to the series’ acclaimed gameplay, complex puzzles and an cinematic combat.

Sonic Mania

Everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog (there’s only one, really) returns on 15th August, once again teaming up with his pals Tails and Knuckles. It’s nostalgic, pixel-style 2D graphics are perfect for the fast paced gameplay that has become synonymous with Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sonic Mania remasters the classic zones of Sonic 1,2 + 3, whilst introducing all new zones and bosses. It feels like Sega are tapping into the perfect vein of nostalgia with this one, and that’s just fine with us.

Agents of Mayhem

The team behind the outrageous Saints Row games bring us a brand new story set in the same universe on 15th August. The game lends much of its gameplay from the Saints Row series, and that’s certainly no bad thing.

The game follows a group of Super MAYHEM (Multinational Agency for Hunting Evil Masterminds) Agents in their quest to defeat the evil LEGION (League of Evil Gentlemen Intent on Obliterating Nations). Fuse futuristic technology with unique weapons and gadgets to wreak havoc in Seoul, South Korea.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Life is Strange: Before the Storm, releasing on 31st August, is a 3 part adventure set 3 years before the critically acclaimed original game. The story follows Chloe Price’s transition from model student to blue haired ass-kicker, following the death of her father.

Players will have to make difficult decisions that will ripple across the entire story. Chloe doesn’t possess the same rewinding abilities as Max did in Life is Strange, so the decisions you make seem to carry much more weight.
